Wroclaw Walking Pilgrimage XXX Jubilee Walking Pilgrimage Wroclaw "Let Us Be Witnesses of Love" INVITATION TO THE PILGRIMAGE The pilgrimage will set out from the Wroclaw Cathedral on Sunday August 1, 2010, at 6.00 AM under the slogan of "Let Us Be Witnesses of Love". We will arrive in Jasna Gora on the 10th of August at 9.30. Mass as completion of the pilgrimage will be on the ramparts of Jasna Gora at 11.00 AM. "Let Us Be Witnesses of Love " is the motto of this year's 30th Jubilee Pilgrimage. This year we once more recall and experience the love of God for His people. This love was revealed in Jesus, who loved us to the end. Knowing the finest work of God towards people will help us bear witness to his love. During the pilgrimage in your groups, you will have an opportunity of carrying the relics of St. Hedwig of Silesia, who was chosen by Pope John Paul II as the patron of Lower Silesia. Anyone may participate in the pilgrimage who will accept the following terms:
- Signs up in his/her local parish (for more details please contact a chaplain) or the student ministry until the end of July (please state your group number for entry) - Commits to abstention from smoking cigarettes and drinking alcoholic beverages - Adheres with prohibition of sharing a tent with someone of the opposite sex - Will listen and obey to the guide and his collaborators - Will accept penance inwardly of all pilgrimage's hardship (i.e., dress modestly) - Mobile phone will be used only in the accommodations and stops - Participation of minors is only possible with an adult guardian Expenses of the pilgrimage are 70 PLN for children and youth including before the junior high school, and 75 PLN for remaining participants( in the case of more than three members in a single family, discounts will be foreseen.) Luggage (signed and addressed with the group's number) should be left at the place with the time, that has been agreed for each individual's group with the director of pilgrimage at the entry. Things that you should bring: Identity cards, prayer book, rosary, song book, notebook, a few pairs of cotton underwear, at least two pairs of comfortable shoes, several pairs of woollen and cotton socks, hat, raincoat, tent, mattress or sleeping pad, sleeping bag or blankets, cup and spoon. To ensure your security, remember to keep all information regarding your continuously taking medication and the health insurance card. All your belongings should be packed in plastic bags. On the route of the pilgrimage there will be opportunities to purchase bread, diary (yogurt, milk etc.) and basic foodstuff. On the vigil before setting out - 31.07.2010 at 19.00, at the student ministry "Wawrzyny" - ul. Bujwida 51 (- 51 Bujwida Street ) , Mass will be celebrated asking for God's blessing for the 30th Walking Pilgrimage.
